Coniston Capital has backed the Management Buy Out of Harvey Jones, a designer, manufacturer and installer of bespoke kitchens.  This investment is the second from Coniston Capital I LP which had its final close in March 2022.

Harvey Jones was founded in 1977 and designs and produces quality, made-to-measure kitchen cabinetry. The company has 28 kitchen showrooms giving it a national presence across the UK. Harvey Jones is led by its Managing Director Darren Woolsgrove, who will take the business through its next growth phase.

Coniston has introduced Adrian Fawcett as non-executive Chairman. Fawcett has over 20 years of experience in executive and non-executive roles, across multiple sectors. Notably, he has chaired Silentnight Group, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of beds and mattresses and Park Holidays Group, one of the UK’s largest holiday park operators.

Josh Henshaw, who led the transaction for Coniston and will join the board of Harvey Jones, said: “Darren and the team have built an impressive business and offer a high-end, specialist service in an exciting market. This combination made the company an attractive investment proposition and we look forward to working with them to continue to drive growth.”

Darren Woolsgrove added: “We are delighted to have Coniston on board for the next stage of our development. Their vision and collaborative approach are strongly aligned with our own and we feel that they genuinely want the best for the future of Harvey Jones.”

Coniston was advised on the transaction by Browne Jacobson (Mike Jackson, Matt Dorman, Jack Milnthorpe), PMSI Strategy (Jill-Marit Lerum Cornes, Olivia Rohll, Alex Byers) and Finerva (Adam Brodie, Myles Treharne). Harvey Jones was advised by Azets (Andy Coghlan, Charlie Copp) and Mishcon De Reya (Nadim Meer).
