FMC Secures £4m Growth Capital Round from Industry Leader

News-FMC-Growth-Round

Coniston portfolio company FMC has secured a £4m growth capital round from a consortium including Barry Lanesman. Lanesman is a dental industry veteran who successfully led the Dentex group through a period of rapid expansion, growing it from startup to 175 practices within six years before its merger with Portman Group in 2023. This transaction provides FMC with funds to support their acquisition plans and expansion into new verticals.

Lanesman has joined the board of FMC as a non-executive director. Two of his former Dentex colleagues, Amy Holdsworth and Eloise Ford have also chosen to join the group as Practice Services Director and Marketing Director respectively.

Alfred Chambers, who led the transaction for Coniston commented “We are delighted to have Barry, Amy and Eloise on board. This is an exciting time for FMC, and we look forward to executing our growth plans.”

Craig Welling, CEO at FMC commented “Having Barry, Amy and Eloise join us is a major milestone. Their combined experience, expertise, and deep understanding of practice growth will be invaluable as we continue to build momentum. With this additional support, we are even better positioned to deliver what really matters to practices across the UK and we believe that together we can strengthen our position in the industry and achieve the company’s ambitions.”

Coniston and FMC were advised by Browne Jacobson (Mike Jackson, Matt Dorman, Morgan Summerfield) and Crowe (Emma Reynolds, Amira Marshall).

Coniston originally backed the MBO of FMC in September 2023.
